Beaded doilies (jug covers) is a distinctively South African form of crocheting done with expertise and love by our Grannies. It is a time-consuming and skilled art form and has become a rarity nowadays.
The fine texture of the French imported yarn makes superfine crocheting possible and is suitable to slide the small beads on the inside of the doily over the knots during the making of the article. The yarn is of pure cotton and best quality. The glass beads in two colours show the unique pattern of every doily in light and dark relief. These beads are threaded according to a code before crocheting starts.
